It’s Friday: It’s “Commonwealth Day” at the Douala Laquintinie Hospital. Launched two months ago, this concept sets out one day, for the exclusive use of the English language between the staff of the health facility, and between them and patients or visitors. The initiative was highly appreciated by the delegation from the National Commission for Bilingualism and Multiculturalism during their visit of October 2, 2023, composed of: the former Minister ABOUEM A TCHOYI Barrister Nico HALLE and Alexis Claude EBOUNDJE.
This Commission came to assess the usage of bilingualism within our health facility. But also, to explain to the Management Committee and all the staff of Laquintinie Hospital, the contours of article 27 of law n°2019/019 of December 24, 2019, promoting official languages in Cameroon.
Commonwealth Day: L’Hôpital Laquintinie reçoit les encouragements de la Commission nationale pour la promotion du bilinguisme et du multiculturalisme
C’est vendredi: C’est le “Commonwealth Day” à l’Hôpital Laquintinie de Douala. Lancé il y’a deux mois, ce concept instaure, le temps d’un jour, l’usage exclusif de la langue Anglaise entre le personnel de la formation sanitaire, et entre celui-ci et les patients ou visiteurs.
L’initiative a été fortement apprécié, ce 2 octobre 2023, par une délégation de la Commission nationale pour le multiculturalisme et le bilinguisme, composée de l’ancien Ministre David ABOUEM A TCHOYI Barrister Nico HALLE et Alexis Claude EBOUNDJE;
Tous membres de cette Commission venue évaluer le niveau d’appropriation du bilinguisme au sein de notre formation sanitaire. Mais également, pour expliquer au Comité de Direction et à l’ensemble du personnel de l’Hôpital Laquintinie, les contours de l’article 27 de la loi n°2019/019 du 24 décembre 2019, portant promotion des langues officielles au Cameroun.
